What kind of work did you do and how relevant were your projects?
I ran around the city dropping off and picking up items like samples and patterns. I did nothing design-related at all. I basically worked as a free assistant to every branch of the company. I got coffee and lunch for employees. I ran personal errands for employees. I organized the offices, filed, and made lots of copies on the machine. I learned nothing about the industry and if I wasn’t running around the city doing errands that an assistant is PAID to do, I was sitting in a room twiddling my thumbs together until the receptionist would call for an intern over the loud speaker for another mindless task. Nothing I did was personalized work for me, the company just needs any old intern to do the tasks they don’t feel like doing because they refuse to actually hire PAID assistants when they can get it for free from helpless interns.
